Risk Assessment
There is a lot of legislation relating to health and safety at work, because it is such an important issue we are all legally obliged to provide a safe and hygienic working environment with careful attention to health, safety and security. There have been many changes over time to the regulations and they are constantly changed, so it up to you to update yourself with those changes to keep within the law as it is introduced.

The health and safety at work act is designed to protect the health and safety of people while they are at work and also to protect members of the public visiting the workplace. Employers must take reasonable care to protect employees and themselves from the risk of disease, injury or death. It is a legal requirement for employers to either display an approved Health & Safety poster or to supply employees with an equivalent leaflet. This needs to be updated as changes are made.

Occupational factors could put people at risk to illness or injury from the work they do. e.g. asthma from monomer fumes or dust from filing nails.
